Fitting and replacing the
charcoal filters
If the rangehood is connected for
recirculation, a charcoal filter must be
inserted in addition to the grease filters.
This is designed to absorb cooking
odours and is fitted in the canopy
above the grease filters.
Replacement charcoal filters can be
obtained from your Chartered Agent
or Miele.
See back cover for contact details,
and "Technical data" for type and
reference number.
^ Before fitting or replacing the
charcoal filter, the grease filters must
first be taken out (see previous
section for instructions on how to do
this).
^ Unwrap the charcoal filter from its
packaging.
^ Insert the charcoal filter into the
canopy.
When fitting for the first time:
^ Set the operating hours counter (see
"Operation").
Cleaning and care
Always replace the charcoal filter im-
mediately if
– the Charcoal filter touch control lights
up
or
– they are no longer effective in
absorbing kitchen odours.
It should, however, be replaced at least
every 6 months.
Used charcoal filters can be disposed
of with the normal household waste.
^ To reset the operating hours counter
for the charcoal filter, press and hold
in the Charcoal filter touch control for
approx. 3 seconds.
The indicator lamp for the touch
control will go out.
^ If the charcoal filter is cleaned before
the operating hours counter has
reached its maximum, you can reset
the operating hours counter by
pressing and holding in the Charcoal
filter touch control for approx.
6 seconds.
