Fitting and replacing the
charcoal filters
If the cooker hood is connected for
recirculation, a charcoal filter must be
inserted into each of the charcoal filter
frames above the grease filters in either
side of the canopy, in addition to the
grease filters. Charcoal filters absorb
normal kitchen odours.
New charcoal filters can be
purchased from your Miele dealer,
from the Miele Spare Parts
Department or via the internet on
www.miele.co.uk.
See back cover for contact details,
and "Technical data" for the model
number of the filter.
^ Before fitting or replacing the
charcoal filters, the grease filters
must first be taken out (see previous
section for instructions on how to do
this).
^ Take the charcoal filter out of its
packaging.
^ Insert the charcoal filter into the back
of the charcoal filter frame, then push
up into the frame at the front.

When fitting for the first time:
^ Activate the operating hours counter
on both sets of controls (see
"Operation").
Always replace the charcoal filters im-
mediately if
– the indicator lamps for the charcoal
filter controls light up,
or
– they are no longer effective in
absorbing kitchen odours.
They should, however, be replaced at
least every 6 months.
Used charcoal filters can be disposed
of with the normal household waste.
^ After fitting new charcoal filters, press
the charcoal filter touch controls for
approx. 3 seconds to reset the
operating hours counters.
The charcoal filter indicator lamps will
go out.
^ If the charcoal filters are replaced
before the operating hours counters
have reached their maximum, the
charcoal filter controls should be
pressed for approx. 6 seconds to
reset the counters.
