Hardware Features

For most scanners, many of the image processing options described here-in are only available when the Visioneer
Acuity module is installed. Depending on the scanner you are using, some of these options are also available
without Visioneer Acuity. Using hardware image processing means the scanner can scan at its rated speeds while
producing the best quality results.
To enable or disable software Visioneer Acuity, go to the Driver Configuration section and then click on the checkbox
to deselect/select Acuity. When Acuity is disabled, only the options that can be performed in hardware will be
available in the scanner interface.

Disabling Hardware Image Processing

You can disable hardware image processing from the scanner properties pages in the Windows Control Panel.
Deselecting the option in the Control Panel disables hardware image processing only for that feature. When the
option is selected in the TWAIN interface, the function will use software Visioneer Acuity. Please refer to HW IP
Settings on page 196.
