In order to watch digital cable within Windows® Media Center, you must
first activate and authenticate the CableCARDTM used to receive premium
digital cable content. Your cable service provider will instruct you on how
to obtain your CableCARDTM and cable service.
Note: Support and instructions from your cable service provider may
vary. Follow the steps below when you have obtained a
CableCARDTM from your cable service provider and you have been
instructed to install the CableCARDTM on your own.
Starting Media Center for the First Time
Note: As with all software products, settings and features may
change over time. Please consult your Windows® Media Center
Setup Guide for Digital Cable as provided by your system
manufacturer for the latest information.
When you launch Media Center for the first time, the Media Center startup
wizard will ask you a series of questions that customize and optimize the
Media Center interface.

On the Windows Vista™ desktop, click Start> All Programs>
Media Center. Windows® Media Center opens.

If you have not yet run Windows® Media Center, a welcome screen
will present three setup options. Click Express Setup to allow
