What should I do if my modem does not work?
D Make sure the telephone cable is securely plugged into the modem port on your computer and the wall jack.
D Make sure the telephone cable is working. Plug the cable into an ordinary telephone and listen for a dial tone.
D Make sure that the telephone number the program is dialing is correct.
D Make sure the software you are using is compatible with your computer's modem. (All preinstalled Sony programs are
compatible.)
D Make sure the modem is the only device connected to your telephone line.
D Follow these steps to check the settings:
1 Click Start and Control Panel.
2 Click Hardware and Sound.
3 Click Phone and Modem Options.
4 On the Modems tab, check that your modem is listed.
5 On the Dialing Rules tab, check the location information is correct.
