5.1 Precautions
(1) Safety precautions
• The plasma display panel that is installed on this product and the surface of the product are made of glass. Because it
may break if it is struck, please handle it extremely carefully. And be very careful to avoid injury by pieces of broken
glass.
• The plasma display's power plug is a grounded three conductor plug. If your electrical outlet is a two conductor outlet,
be sure to have an expert perform grounding work.
(2) Unpacking precautions
• When removing this product from its shipping box, take it out so that nothing strikes the surface of the panel.
(3) Operating precautions
• Be careful not to block the exhaust openings installed to discharge heat from the top, bottom, and back of the product.
• Do not install it in a poorly ventilated location.
• The front panel of this product scratches easily, so handle it taking extreme care that no hard object is pushed against
it or rubs it.
• If the front of this panel becomes soiled, clean it by wiping it gently with a dry cloth.
• If any chemicals, water, etc. get inside the product or adhere to the surface of a module other than the screen, it may
damage the product.
(4) Product utilization environment precautions
• Operating it with water condensed on it may cause it to malfunction.
• Avoid using it under utilization environment conditions other than those stipulated for the product.
• Do not install it in a very humid or dusty location.
• Do not install it in an environment close to sulfides or where there is sulfur gas.
(5) Product characteristics precautions
• The brightness of the phosphor elements used in this product is degraded according to the accumulated time they are
lit.
This degradation of brightness creates a brightness gap with the surroundings, and this is perceived as burn-in. For this
reason, a long term constant pattern and a display similar to a constant pattern (time display etc.) cause burn-in.
Also, use 4 : 3 normal mode and 14 : 9 mode carefully because they cause brightness degradation with parts with no
picture.
• This product consists of an aggregation of tiny pixels. Please keep it in mind that a small number of pixels do not emit
light, and there are some that are always on, and others that flicker.
(6) Other precautions
• Do not take the product apart.
• Because directly supplying AC power may cause malfunctions of the set's circuits or impact on its reliability, do this at
intervals of at least 30 seconds. Turning it on and off in a short period of time may cause AC chattering that produces
noise etc. or cause fluctuation of the AC line effecting the set.
• Use this product where electrical capacity is high, because its electrical consumption is high.
If the electrical power supply is inadequate, the sudden flow of current when the power is turned on may activate the
electric power breaker or the power may fail to be supplied.
• This product radiates a small amount of infrared radiation from the panel surface because of its structure. Therefore, if
you operate any equipment that uses infrared radiation near this product, do so very carefully because it many effect
the equipment.
