OTHER FUNCTIONS

■ Hailer operation

The IC-M504 has a haler functon for voce amplfcaton
over a loudspeaker, makng t unnecessary to leave the
brdge to talk a halng party.
Connect an external haler speaker (25 W nomnal at 13.8
V/4 ˘) as descrbed on p. 58.
• Transmttng s not possble durng haler operaton.
• The receved sgnal s muted durng haler operaton.
q Push [HAIL•RX
Push
w Push and hold [PTT] and speak at a normal voce level
nto the mcrophone.
• "TALK" appears.
• "WAIT" appears at the channel comment ndcator when the
optonal command mcrophone s n use.
• To adjust the haler level, rotate [DIAL].
e To return to normal operaton, push [CLR] or [HAIL•RX

• Whle n the haler mode, the transcever functons (trans-
mt and receve) are nterrupted. If the transcever s n
transmt condton, the haler functon s not avalable.
• When a DSC call s receved, the haler functon s nter-
rupted wth an automatc return to the transcever mode.
The transcever's dsplay ndcates 'Recevng DSC calls.'
