2.3 Simplified Troubleshooting

[Remedy]
• Check for any abnormalities in the mounting of probable faulty parts or connector connections referring to the table below.
• Try replacing probable faulty parts referring to the table below.

• Adjustments must be performed after parts are replaced. For details, see the "Adjustments" chapter.

If the Power cannot be Turned On

Procedure/Check point

Remove the front cover and the rear cover.

Check whether the BATTERY COVER
open/close detection switch on the MAIN PCB
ASS'Y is broken.

If the Flash does not Work

Procedure/Check point
1
Remove the front cover and the rear cover.
Reinsert the flexible board that connects

MAIN PCB ASS'Y and FLASH UNIT.

If the LCD Display is Abnormal

Procedure/Check point
1
Turn the power on.

Enter the shooting mode (with LCD display ON),
and check the display on the LCD.

Conceivable cause
If the flash operates properly after reinsertion, the flexible
board connection is defective.
Conceivable cause
When the entire display is white:
• LCD PANEL is defective (flexible board is broken, etc.).
• Defective connection between the flexible board of the
LCD PANEL and the connector of the PCB.
• MAIN PCB is defective.
When the display is faint:
• BACK LIGHT UNIT is defective (flexible board is broken,
etc.).
When no image is displayed although the menu screen is
displayed:
• OPTICAL UNIT is defective (the shutter of the lens block
is not open, etc.).
