4. Press and hold one of the six buttons
on the lower side of the radio screen
until you hear a beep or see the
station displayed on the button
pushed.
Set your geographical area and
destination
1. Turn the radio on by pressing the
VOL (power) button.
2. Insert a map disc into the radio
CD slot.
3. If a notice appears, press the NEXT
button on the screen.
4. Push the DEST button on the screen
after the default map screen
appears.
5. Press the CHANGE button on the
right side of the destination screen.
6. Determine whether your
geographical area is selected. If it
is not, press the button that
represents your area.
7. Press the ADDRESS button on the
screen.
8. Enter the name of your street. The
"smart speller" will assist you.
(Use the "Back" arrow to correct any
misspellings.)
9. If provided a list of streets, select
your street.
10.Enter the street address.
11. If provided a list of cities, select the
proper one.
12.Press the ENTER DESTINATION
button.
The system now calculates the fastest
route. You may choose to either enter
into guidance mode by pressing the
NAV button on the upper left or you can
view and select alternate routes by
pressing the ROUTE button, fol-
lowed by the 3 ROUTES button.
Navigation Radio Operating Tips
• Pushing one of the hard keys on
the left side of the radio will
always return you to a top level
menu.
• Once a route is set, it will remain
until it is reached or canceled.
Note that you can stop along the
way, return to the vehicle and it
will still be in guidance mode.
• While navigating, you can press
"Nav Options" to bring up a menu
that allows you to cancel the
route.
• The FASTEST selection will
choose main roads for travel.
The SHORTEST selection will
route you using all of the
shortcuts.
• After selecting the NAV mode,
pushing the Menu button allows
you to set up the map appear-
ance, adjust the volume of the
voice prompts, and utilize many
other features.
• The CD button allows you to
select the internal CD player,
the external CD changer (if
equipped) or a control screen
for rear seat entertainment (if
equipped). Note that you cannot
play a CD in the internal CD
player and have route guidance
at the same time.
• The AUDIO button allows you to
adjust balance, fade, bass and
treble, as well as the amplifier
DSP settings.
• The CONFIG button allows you
to adjust the brightness and
