12 VDC External "Safety" Loop Detector - Allows gate to stay open when vehicles
are obstructing path. Caution: Suggested for vehicles 14 feet or longer.
If the "Inside" and "Outside" safety loops are connected to the same loop detector:
• They should be series connected to the detector.
• Have the same dimensions.
• Have the same number of wire turns (See table below).
12 VDC External "Exit" Loop Detector - Allows gate to automatically open for
exiting vehicles.

Installing Insulated Loop Wire

The wire MUST be twisted together 6 twists per foot
from the end of the feeder slot to the loop detector.

the loop saw cut for the required
number of turns. One turn shown.

Remove sharp inside corners
by making corner cuts
Recommended Loop Wire XLPE 12-18 gauge
(Use heavier wire gauge for a more durable
loop area).
NOTE: Wire mesh or reinforcement
imbedded in the road surface should be
cut away a minimum of 6 inches from
the perimeter of the loop wires.
