Speech Settings

This menu allows you to set the speech settings for Voice
input.
1. From the Settings screen, under SYSTEM, touch
Language and input.
2. Touch Voice search to configure the following:
• Language: Choose a language for your voice input.
• Speech output: Set whether you will use speech
output always or only when using hands-free.
• Block offensive words: Block recognized offensive
words from the results of your Google searches.
• Hotword detection: Speak "Ok Google" to launch a
voice search.
• Offline speech recognition: Enable voice input while
offline.
• Personalized recognition: Improve speech
recognition based on your speech pattern.
(This option requires a Google Account.)
• Google Account dashboard: View and manage your
collected data. (This option requires a Google Account.)
• Bluetooth headset: Record audio through a Bluetooth
headset if available.

3. Touch Text-to-speech options and select Samsung
text-to-speech engine or Google Text-to-speech
Engine.
4. Touch
next to the preferred TTS engine to configure
options:
Samsung TTS Engine options
• Language: Set the language for spoken text.
• Settings for Samsung text-to-speech engine:
Select a voice.
• Install voice data: Install voice data for speech
synthesis.
Google TTS Engine options
• Language: Set the language for spoken text.
• Settings for Google Text-to-speech Engine:
Auto-update voices: Download voices data
updates when available.
Update voices over Wi-Fi only: Download voices
data updates using Wi-Fi only.
View Open Source Licenses: View license
information for the Google TTS Engine.
• Install voice data: Install voice data for speech
synthesis.
