OPERATION

Resistance Loading Selector Switch Operation Change
Starting with serial number 130540.
The PH-302 MkII phono inputs have been changed in their operation with respect to the resistance
loading switch on the back of the unit. The phono inputs have been changed in order to maximize the
volume level and to provide a lower noise level when using moving coil phono cartridges. The operation
of the resistance selector switch has changed only in respect to the moving magnet inputs. For moving
coil cartridges, use the selector switch normally.
When using the moving magnet inputs always select the 47K setting now on the selector switch to
provide the proper loading of moving magnet cartridges with a 47K ohm load. This was not necessary on
previous models.
When using a moving coil phono cartridge the operation of the resistance loading selector switch is
normal, but will now provide a higher volume level and improved sound quality with a greater signal to
noise level.
Resistance loading selector switch.
Moving magnet phono cartridges: set to 47K.
Moving coil phono cartridges: normal operation.
Set to closest appropriate resistance value needed for that cartridge.
