PROBABLE CAUSE
a. Dirty runner pilot tube or pilot orifi ce(s).
b. Low pilot fl ame height.
c. Exhaust problems or drafts in kitchen.
d. Low gas supply or pressure.
a. Thermostat is faulty.
b. Fry/Off/Melt switch (BB & TS models)
or On/Off switch (AA & CMG models)
is faulty.
c. Faulty gas valve.
a. Excessive gas supply or pressure.
b. Collapsed burner radiants.
c. Exhaust problems.
a. Exhaust problems.
b. Radiants have slipped forward.
c. Flue blockage.
a. Baskets overfi lled.
b. Fryer vessel overfi lled with oil.
c. Carbon coating on heat transfer tubes.
d. Radiant collapsed or out of position.
e. Faulty or erratic thermostat.
f. Low gas supply or pressure.
a. Thermostat bulb improperly placed.
b. Thermostat out of calibration or is
faulty.
a. Oil is breaking down.
b. High carbon content in oil.
c. Dirty fryer vessel.
d. Inferior grade of oil.
e. Fryer is overheating and Hi-Limit
control has failed.
SOLUTION
a. Turn fryer and manual gas valve off.
Clean orifi ce(s) and pilot tube.
b. Adjust pilot fl ame height.
c. Install or adjust fl ue restrictors. If
problem persists, contact your HVAC
representative.
d. Verify if size of incoming gas line to
fryer and manifold gas pressure
are adequate.
a. Push and hold in Hi-Limit test button.
If burners come on, replace
thermostat.
b. Replace switch.
c. Replace gas valve.
a. Adjust pressure, change burner orifi ces
or install in-line regulator.
b. Replace radiants.
c. Install or adjust fl ue restrictors. If
problem persists, contact your HVAC
representative.
a. Install defl ector to block down draft.
Install or adjust fl ue restrictors. If

b. Reposition radiants.
c. Turn fryer and manual gas valve off. Let
fl ue cool and remove foreign objects.
a. Don't over fi ll baskets.
b. Fill fryer up to "Fill Level" line as oil
expands when heated.
c. Boil-out fryer. See pages 8 & 9 -

d. Check with oil supplier for higher grade
oil.
e. Check thermostat calibration and bulb
position (see pages 11 & 12) and
replace thermostat if necessary.
Check if Hi-Limit trips at 425°F. If not,
replace Hi-Limit.
a. Adjust bulb position. See pages 11 &
12 - Thermostat Bulb Positioning.
b. Check calibration of thermostat and
replace if necessary.
a. Replace oil.
b. Filter or replace oil.
c. Boil-out fryer. See pages 8 & 9 -
