You may have noticed that some electronic mail addresses can be long and difficult to
remember. To help you in remembering these names, you can create "mailing lists" which contain
one or more full electronic addresses, all conveniently referenced by a "list name" which you
define. Mailing list names can be up to 16 characters long.
You create a mailing list with the "
handles the initial creation of the list. A mailing list must be "created" before you can add entries
to it. You create the list by simply selecting the "ADD" command under the mailing list menu and
fill in the name and description of the mailing list you want to create. (Note that mailing list
names are NOT case sensitive).
Upon entering the command, you will then be prompted to provide a name and description
for the mailing list. The description is only for your benefit, and is displayed when you SHOW
ALL MAILLISTs or when you are prompted to select a mailing list to edit.
Once you have created your mailing list, you will want to add one or more addresses to it.
To do this, use the "EDIT" mailing list command.
Any valid electronic mail address that you could send a message to is valid in a mailing
list. Note that the addresses are NOT checked when you enter them, only when you actually refer-
