WIRE CONNECTOR
4. Disconnect the wire connector
from the ignition coil by pushing
on the lock tab and pulling on the
connector. Pull on the plastic
connector, not the wires.
5. Use a 6 mm hex. wrench to remove
the bolt holding the ignition coil.
Remove the ignition coil by pulling
it up slightly.
Do not strike or drop the ignition coil,
or it may be damaged and require
replacement.

6. Remove the spark plugs with a
spark plug wrench and 19 mm eye
wrench.

7. Inspect the spark plugs. Replace
them if the electrodes are worn, or
if the insulators are cracked or
chipped.
8. Measure the spark plug electrode
gap with a wire-type feeler gauge.
The gap should be 0.039 – 0.051
inches (1.0 – 1.3 mm). If the gap is
out of the specification, replace the
plug with a new one. Never try to
readjust the gap.
