Configuring the system settings

You can make the following settings via the menu on the relevant handset or on a
registered Gigaset SL78H, SL400H, S79H handset or via the Web configurator on
the phone.

Setting the date and time manually

To ensure you have the correct time for incoming calls and to use the alarm clock,
the date and time must be set.
Please note
The address of a time server on the Internet is stored on your phone. The date
and time are taken from this time server provided that the phone is connected
to the Internet and synchronization with the time server is activated. Manual
settings are overwritten in this case.
If the date and time have not yet been set on the handset, the

Date:
Enter month, day and year as an 8-digit number via the keypad,
e.g., Q 42Q for 01.14.2011.
Time:
Enter the hours and minutes in 4-digit format via the keypad,
e.g., QM 5 for 07:15 am.

Protecting against unauthorized access

Protect the phone system settings with a PIN known only to you. You have to enter
the system PIN if you register or de-register a handset, change local network set-
tings, perform a firmware update or reset the phone to default settings.
