GPS Status (page)
'MENU' + "GPS STATUS" + 'ENTER'
Shows GPS satellites information. This is the default page shown at power on. It is possible to choose
the type of information to be shown in the four fields in the center of the page pressing 'ENTER' and
select data to be shown. Default values of the selectable fields are HDOP, VDOP, DATE and TIME.
On the right side of the screen (see Figure 8e), there is a polar representation of the azimuth and
elevation of each satellites. The circle contains a number indicating the PRN of the satellite and it is
filled when it is used for the fix solution. On the left side there are histograms indicating the S/N ratio
(SNR). The bar is filled when the satellite is used for solution. As a example, the satellite with PRN=11
is used for solution with SNR=34, Azimuth=170 degrees and Elevation=30 degrees.
HDG = Heading
The horizontal direction in which a ship actually points or heads in any moment (see also COG).
HDOP = Horizontal Dilution Of Precision
It is the index for position-fixing accuracy. The smaller the HDOP value, the more accurately the
position can be fixed (see Part B of "
Highway (page)
'MENU' + "HIGHWAY" + 'ENTER'
Shows the 3D Highway and the most relevant navigation information. It is possible customize all four
fields shown in the page. The scale of the Highway display can be changed by pressing 'ZOOM IN'/
'ZOOM OUT'; the ranges available are 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 10.0 Nm.
