    INSERTING THE 4G SIM CARD If not already done so, please follow these instructions to insert your new 4G SIM card. 1. Remove your wireless device’s back cover and battery. 2. Insert the 4G SIM card into the SIM card slot with its gold contacts facing down and its cut-off corner facing the red SIM card tab.

    REMOVING THE 4G SIM CARD* 1. Remove your wireless device’s back cover and battery. 2. Press the SIM card tab, and then slide the 4G SIM card out of the slot. NOTE: Should your SIM card be lost or damaged, visit verizonwireless.com/myverizon to order a replacement SIM.
  • Page 12 INSTALLING YOUR BATTERY 1. Align the battery’s exposed copper contacts with the battery connectors inside the battery compartment. 2. Insert the contact side of the battery first, and then gently push the battery into place. 3. Align the back cover on the top part of the wireless device and then press the sides and the bottom part of the cover to lock it in place.

    CHARGING YOUR BATTERY 1. Connect the small end of the charging cable to the USB connector on the left panel of your wireless device. 2. Connect the other end of the charging cable to the power adapter. 3. Plug in the power adapter to an electrical outlet to start charging the battery.
  • Page 14 POWERING YOUR PHONE ON/OFF It’s important to fully charge the battery before turning on your wireless device. Press and hold the POWER/LOCK button for a few seconds until the screen turns on.   • Page 15 Setting up your Google Account 1. From the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync. 2. Tap Add account > Google > Existing. If you don’t have a Google Account, tap New and follow screen instructions to create one.
  • Page 16 Setting up an Exchange ActiveSync email account 1. From the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync. 2. Tap Add account > Exchange ActiveSync. 3. Enter your email account details, and then tap Next. NOTE: Your corporate Exchange Server must support auto- detect for the wireless device to automatically set up the Exchange ActiveSync account.
  • Page 17 LOCKING/UNLOCKING YOUR PHONE Prevent accidental key presses by locking your wireless device. To lock your wireless device and turn off the screen, in standby mode, press the POWER/LOCK button. To unlock the wireless device, press the POWER/LOCK button. Drag the ring up the screen to unlock the screen.
  • Page 18 LAUNCH AN APP FROM THE LOCK SCREEN You’ll find the icons of your favorite apps on the Lock screen. To open an app directly from the Lock screen, just drag the icon inside the ring. SELECT THE LOCK SCREEN APP ICONS App icons on the launch bar also appear on the Lock screen.

    HOME SCREEN The Home screen is your access to apps, features, and settings of your wireless device. You can make the Home screen truly yours by rearranging the screens or by adding your favorite apps, shortcuts, folders, and widgets so they’re always just a tap away. ADD AN ITEM TO THE HOME SCREEN 1.

    4. Check the dialing preferences, such as the IDD/NDD Prefix and Area/City Code. The next time you dial a phone number, the IDD/NDD prefix and area/city code is automatically added before the number. NOTE: CDMA coverage is required for calls made from outside the U.S.

    USING THE SPEAKERPHONE AUTOMATICALLY During a call, you can switch to speakerphone by simply flipping over your phone. 1. From the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings. 2. Tap Sound > Flip for speaker. NOTE: The Flip for speaker option is not available when your wireless device is set to either Vibrate or Silent mode.
  • Page 25 SETTING YOUR PHONE TO VIBRATE Pressing the VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN button changes the volume level of the phone ringtone. While in the lowest ringer volume level (Silent mode), press VOLUME DOWN once to set your phone to Vibrate mode. The phone vibrates and the vibrate mode icon appears in the status bar.

From the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings > Bluetooth. Your wireless device will start to scan for Bluetooth devices within range.

    HEARING AID COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses. However, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in this phone that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids.

    2. When you open Google Play for the first time, the Terms of Service window will appear. Tap Accept to continue. 3. Navigate or search for the item you want to download and then select it. 4. On the application details screen, tap Download (for free apps) or tap the price (for paid apps).
