Preface

The BX900 S1 system unit has 18 installation slots for dual-socket server
blades. Six server blade slots can be fitted with storage blades which provide
additional storage capacity for the neighboring server blades.
The rear part of the system unit accommodates the infrastructure modules
shared by the server blades. These include besides power supply units and fan
modules up to 8 hot-plug connection blades, redundant management blades for
flexible network integration and reliable server management.
The PRIMERGY BX900 S1 system unit occupies 10 height units in a 19-inch
rack.

Concept and target groups
This Service Supplement completes the information given in the Operating
Manual, the Options Guide and the Technical Manual of the system board.
The activities described in this manual may only be performed by service
personnel.
