A guide to simple problem solving

Before calling up the service personnel, please check the following chart for a possible cause to the problem you are encountering.
Symptom
No picture,no sound,power/standby indicator is OFF.
No picture,no sound,power/standby indicator is ON.

HITACHI Projection Television incorporates advanced power surge protection technology designed to protect against
component or circuit damage due to external or internal power surges.
If your TV appears A LOSS OF POWER, please follow the following procedure:
1. Press the POWER button once.
2. If there is still no power, wait for 30 seconds and press the POWER button again.
3. If there is still no power, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait for 30 seconds and plug the power cord in. Press
the POWER button again.
The protective technology should provide you for years of lasting entertainment from your HITACHI Projection Television.
The following phenomena are not failures:

The picture will appear after a while when the power is on.

The cabinet clicks. The clicking is a creaking sound produced when the cabinet expands or contracts
due to changes in temperature.
3 Unevenness in color sometimes develops in part of the screen. Such unevenness in color may occur
depending upon the nature or setting of the picture. The proper color may be restored by reducing the
contrast or adjusting other settings.
4 The TV set can generate sound distortion in external devices such as a radio. Please separate radio equipment
from the TV set to a considerable distance.

Description
Possible causes
The power cord is not plugged in.
The TV is in standby mode.
The volume control is set to minimum.
The Speaker option in Setup menu is set to Off.
The antenna signal is too weak or too strong.
The TV is not tuned correctly.
The contrast, brightness, color or tint may be misadjusted.
Interference from motorcycles, high-tension line, electric hair drier,
personal computer or radio station.
Check the direction, height or position of the antenna.
The antenna signal is too weak.
Color System or Sound System is not set properly.
The batteries in the remote controller may be exhausted.
The batteries may be improperly installed.
There is obstruction between the remote controller and the TV.
