    VDSL/ADSL2+ interface, four FE interfaces, and two POTS interfaces. As a standard Home Gateway device, the HG655a provides VDSL2 uplink and ADSL2+ uplink dual backup to access the broadba nd WAN. For the LAN, it also provides bundant interfaces such as Ethernet interface to connect various household terminals, ch as PC, STB, and PHONE devices.

    Blinking slowly The WAN connection is successfully established and data is being transmitted. The WAN connection is not established. The HG655a is powered off or the WAN connection is not yet established. The LAN connection is LAN1–LAN4 Green successfully established but no data is being transmitted.

    Power adapter 3.3 Getting Started To power on the HG655a, press the ON/OFF button on the rear panel of the HG655a. After you power on the HG655a, the DSL indicator blinks (for less than three minutes), which indicates that the HG655a is being activated. Later, the DSL indicator turns solid on.

    If you forget the password that has been changed, you can restore the default settings of the HG655a by pressing and holding the RESET button for over six seconds. Then the password is restored to default value. After you restore the default settings, however, your customized data is lost.

    4.4 Re storing Default Settings You can quickly restore the default settings of the HG655a by pressing the RESET button on the rear panel. To restore the default settings, press and hold the RESET button for over six seconds after the HG655a is po wered on, and then release the button.

    5.1 Accessing the Network Through the Embedded PPP D ial-Up Software on the HG655a If you select this method for accessing the network, the HG655a starts to set up a dial-up connection auto matically after the startup. You can access the network after you power on your computer.

    If you select this method for accessing the network, you need to install and configure the dial-up software on your computer. In addition, you need to perform dial-up operations on your computer upon each startup .
