TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
The transceiver does
not turn ON.
No sound or weak sound
comes from speaker.
Transmitting is impos-
sible, or high power can
not be selected.
Scan does not start.
No beeps.
Distress calls cannot be
transmitted.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Bad connection to the power supply.
• Squelch level is too high.
• Volume level is too low.
• Speaker has been exposed to water.
• Some channels are for low power or re-
ceive only.
• The output power is set to low.
• TAG channels are not programmed.
• Beep tones are turned OFF.
• MMSI (DSC self ID) code is not pro-
grammed.
SOLUTION
• Check the connection between the power
supply and the transceiver.
• Set [SQL] to the threshold point.
• Set [VOL] to a suitable level.
• Remove the water with the AquaQuake
function.
• Change channels.
• Push [HI/LO] on the microphone to select
high power.
• Set desired channels as TAG channels.
• Turn the beep tone ON in the Set mode.
• Program the MMSI (DSC self ID) code.
