TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
Engine will not start.
Fluid blowing out of fl uid
reservoir vent.
Hydraulic tool won't operate.
CAUSE
Flow selector switch not in the
OFF position.
Battery not connected.
Weak battery.
No fuel.
Fuel fi lter plugged.
Defective spark plugs.
Hydraulic tank overfi lled.
Pump suction leak.
Flow selector switch not switched
ON.
Incorrect hose connection to
tool.
Quick disconnect fi ttings
defective.
Hydraulic fl uid level low.
Pump coupling defective.
Relief valve stuck open.
Suction hose kinked.
Solenoid not working.
Tool is defective.

REMEDY
Make sure the fl ow selector switch is in
the OFF position when starting.
Attach battery cables, check wires.
Test battery, charge or replace.
Add Fuel.
Replace fuel fi lter.
Remove plugs, check gap, clean or
replace.
Correct the fl uid level.
Check suction connections. Tighten if
necessary.
Check that the fl ow selector switch
is set to 5 or 8 gpm.
Make sure the tool hose circuit goes
from left (pressure) fi tting to tool
and back to the right fi tting
(return). Fluid always fl ows from the
male to female fi ttings.
Detach from hose, connect set
together and check for free fl ow.
Check for correct fl uid level. Fill
using the recommended fl uid.
With the engine not running.
Check the coupling between the pump
and engine that it is engaged and is
not damaged. Caution: Keep hands
clear of rotating objects.
Adjust or replace valve.
Make sure suction hose from fl uid
reservoir to pump inlet has a smooth
curve.
Check solenoid operation and electrical
connections.
Refer to tool manual.
