R e a d the f o l l o w i n g guidelines before you begin to install the C P U :
• M a k e sure that the motherboard supports the C P U .
(Go to G I G A B Y T E ' S website for the latest C P U support list.)
• A l w a y s t u r n off t h e c o m p u t e r a n d u n p l u g the p o w e r c o r d f r o m the p o w e r outlet b e f o r e
installing the C P U to prevent h a r d w a r e d a m a g e .
• Locate the pin one of the CPU. The CPU cannot be inserted if oriented incorrectly. (Or you
may locate the notches on both sides of the C P U and alignment keys on the C P U socket.)
• A p p l y an e v e n and thin layer of t h e r m a l grease on the s u r f a c e of the C P U .
• Do not turn on the c o m p u t e r if the C P U cooler is not installed, otherwise overheating and
d a m a g e of the C P U may occur.
• Set the C P U host f r e q u e n c y in a c c o r d a n c e with the C P U specifications. It is not recom-
m e n d e d that the s y s t e m bus f r e q u e n c y be set b e y o n d h a r d w a r e s p e c i f i c a t i o n s s i n c e it
d o e s not m e e t the s t a n d a r d r e q u i r e m e n t s for the p e r i p h e r a l s . If y o u wish to set the fre-
q u e n c y b e y o n d t h e s t a n d a r d s p e c i f i c a t i o n s , p l e a s e do so a c c o r d i n g to y o u r h a r d w a r e
s p e c i f i c a t i o n s i n c l u d i n g the C P U , g r a p h i c s card, m e m o r y , h a r d drive, etc.
