1-9 AUDIO SUBSYSTEM

1-9.1 Audio Connector
The audio connectors include the following:

Back panel connectors: stereo line-level output (Line Out), stereo line-level
input (Line In), and Mic In
l
CD Line - in (black)
l
Aux – in (natural/white)
l
Phone - in (green)
1-9.1.1 CD Line - in Connector
A1 x 4-pin ATAPI-style connector is available for connecting an internal CD-ROM
drive to the audio mixer. The connector is designed for use with cables that are
compatible with ATAPI CD-ROM drivers
1-9.1.2 Phone - in Connector
A 1x 4-pin ATAPI-style connector is available for connecting the monaural audio
signals of an internal telephony device to the audio subsystem. A monaural audio-
in and audio-out signal interface is necessary for telephony applications such as
speakerphones, fax modems, and answering machines.
1-9.1.3 Auxiliary - in Connector
A 1 x 4-pin ATAPI-style Line In connector is available for connecting the left and
right channel signals of an internal audio device to the audio subsystem. An audio-
in signal interface of this type is necessary for applications such as TV tuners.

1-10 HARDWARE MONITOR

The optional hardware monitor subsystem provides low-cost instrumentation
capabilities. The features of the hardware monitor subsystem include:

Fan speed sensors, which monitor the fan 1 and fan 2 connectors
Ø
Power supply voltage monitoring to detect levels above or below acceptable
values
