POUR NETTOYER DE
L'AGITATEUR:
REMARQUE: L'agitateur doit être nettoyé
chaque fois que la courroie est rem-
placée pour assurer une l'aspiration opti-
male ainsi que pour éviter d'abîmer votre
aspirateur.
L'agitateur doit aussi être nettoyé selon
les utilisations suivantes:

IMPORTANTES
Éteindre et débrancher l'aspirateur de la
prise de courant. Vérifier fréquemment et
enlever l'accumulation de cheveux, corde
et charpie dans la brosse et les supports
de brosse PowerMate.
Retirer toute poussière ou débris autour
du chemin de la courroie ou du rouleau
brosse.
Retirer
soigneusement
tout fil ou débris
sur l'agitateur ou
les capuchons
d'extrémité.

REMPLACER DE LA COURROIE
NOTE: Utiliser la courroie de remplacement
N o 20-40118. Pour les détails du numéro de
pièce, consulter PIÈCES DÉTACHÉES (page
6).
1. Poser la nouvelle courroie pardessus
l'entraînement du moteur, puis pardessus
le chemin de courroie.

2. Placer l'ensemble de l'agitateur dans
le PowerMate.
3. Assurer que les
embouts d'ex-
trémité sont
solidement placés
en leur position.
3. Aligner le devant du couvercle et la base.
Poser le couvercle sur le bord avant de la
base comme illustré.

4. Tourner le couvercle arrière. Appuyer
fermement sur le couvercle jusqu'á ce
que les languettes arrière se trouvent en
place avec un déclic.
Assurer qu'il n'y a
pas d'espace
entre le couvercle
et la base.
5. Retourner

attention is necessary when used by or near
children.
Do not use with a damaged cord or plug.
If vacuum cleaner is not working as it
should, has been dropped, damaged, left
outdoors, or dropped in water, return it to a
Sears Service Center.
Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a
handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do not run
vacuum cleaner over cord. Keep cord
away from heated surfaces.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To
unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with
wet hands.
Do not put any objects into openings.
Do not use with any opening blocked; keep
free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that
may reduce air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all
parts of body away from openings and
moving parts.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.

Proper assembly and safe use of your vacuum cleaner are your responsibilities. Your vacuum
cleaner is intended for Household use. Read this Use & Care Guide carefully for important
use and safety information. This guide contains safety statements under warning and
caution symbols.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
Do not put on chairs, tables, etc. Keep on
floor.
Do not use vacuum cleaner to pick up
flammable or combustible liquids
(gasoline, cleaning fluid, perfumes, etc.),
or use in areas where they may be
present. The fumes from these substances
can create a fire hazard or explosion.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or
smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot
ashes.
Do not use vacuum cleaner without dust
bag and/or filters in place.
Always change the dust bag after
vacuuming carpet cleaners or freshener,
powders, and fine dust. These products
clog the filters, reduce airflow and can
cause damage to the vacuum cleaner.
Failure to chage the bag could cause
permanent damage to the vacuum cleaner.
Do not use the vacuum cleaner to pick up
sharp hard objects, small toys, pins, paper
clips, etc. They may damage the vacuum
cleaner.
Do not operature the vacuum cleaner
without the exhaust filter or filter door in
place.
The hose contains electrical wires. Do not
use when damaged, cut, or punctured.
Replace if cut or worn. Do not pick up
sharp objects.
Always turn off and unplug before
connecting or disconnecting either hose,
wand, PowerMate, or Pet PowerMate.
Hold plug when rewinding onto cord reel.
Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.
You are responsible for making sure that
your vacuum cleaner is not used by anyone
unable to operate it properly.
