7 How can the the order of devices from which the PC attempts to boot from
be configured?
a Power-on the PC and press F8 while the Vectra logo appears on the
display to view the Boot Menu.
c Power-on the PC and press F2 while the Vectra logo appears on the
display to enter the PC's Setup program.
The Boot Menu gives the order of devices which the PC attempts to start
or "boot" from (for example, the flexible disk drive first, the CD-ROM
drive second, the hard disk drive third, and lastly the network).
In the Setup program, you can also select the hard disk drive to boot
from if there is more than one hard disk drive installed. See page 15 for
more information.
8 The client is unable to start the PC from the keyboard. What would you
suggest might be the problem?
a The PC is not plugged in.
b The Keyboard-Power-On function has not be enabled in the Setup
program.
c The Keyboard-Power-On function has not be enabled on the system
board switches.
d The PC's power supply has shutdown automatically to prevent
overheating and excess power consumption.
The Keyboard-Power-On function works with any operating system, and
is not configured on any particular Windows menu.
The power supply of the PC has a safety feature to prevent overheating
and excess power consumption. When this feature is activated, the PC
will not start. To deactivate this safety mode, unplug the power cord from
the PC, wait for about 10 seconds then plug the power cord back in.
9 The PC does not make a buzzing or beeping sound when the client presses
the power button, but it is still not possible to turn it off. How can this
problem be resolved?
b Press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds.
If it is possible, first ensure that you have saved all data and exited all
programs. Then press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds.
The PC will then turn off.
