OPERATION AFTER A LONG
PERIOD OF STORAGE (for Precision
Blend System models)
When operating the engine after a long
period (12 months) of storage, proceed as
follows:
1) Use a 50:1 gasoline-oil mixture to start
the engine.
2) Start the engine. Leave it idling.

8 Do not touch or remove electrical
parts when starting or during opera-
tion.
8 Keep hands, hair, and clothes away
from flywheel and other rotating parts
while engine is running.
3) Watch for oil flowing through the oil
feed pipes. After any air in the oil lines
has been expelled, the YAMAHA PRE-
CISION BLEND SYSTEM should sup-
ply oil normally. If no oil has begun
flowing after 10 minutes of idling, con-
sult your Yamaha dealer.

8 When operating the engine after a long
period of storage, be sure to take the
above steps; otherwise, engine seizure

may occur.
8 After completing the above steps, use
gasoline (petrol) only. If premix fuel is
used continually, the oxygen sensor
for the Electronic Fuel Injection sys-
tem could be damaged.
