Charging the batteries

The batteries supplied are not charged.
To charge the batteries, insert the mobile unit in the base station or Gigaset
3000L charging unit (accessory) – you will hear the confirmation beep. The
charging status icon flashes on the mobile unit display to indicate that a charg-
ing operation is in progress:

– We recommend initially charging the batteries for at least 16 hours
without interruption – irrespective of the charging status icon.
– Once the first charging operation is complete, you can replace the
mobile unit in the base station after every call. Charging is controlled
electronically. This ensures optimum charging and prolongs battery
life.
– The batteries heat up during charging; this is normal and entails no
risk.
– The battery charging status is only correctly displayed after uninter-
rupted charging/discharging. You should therefore avoid opening the
battery compartment unnecessarily.
