Listening to the Radio

Radio
Presetting stations
automatically
Up to 30 stations can be set.

Press [RADIO] to select "FM".

Press [STATUS] to select the position to
start the auto preset search.
LOWEST:
To begin auto preset with the lowest frequency (FM87.50).
CURRENT:
To begin auto preset with the current frequency.*
*To change the frequency, refer to "Presetting stations
manually".

Press and hold [OK].
Release the button when "AUTO" is displayed.
The tuner starts to preset all the stations it can receive into
the channels in ascending order.
≥ "SET OK" is displayed when the stations are set, and the radio tunes to the
last preset station.
≥ "ERROR" is displayed when automatic presetting is unsuccessful. Preset
the stations manually.

Presetting stations manually

Preparation
Select a radio broadcast.
1 Press [RADIO] to select "FM".
2 Press [SEARCH6] or [SEARCH5] to select the
frequency.
≥ To start automatic tuning, press and hold [SEARCH6], [SEARCH5]
until the frequency starts scrolling. Tuning stops when a station is found.

While listening to the radio broadcast
Press [OK].

While "P" is flashing on the display
Press the number buttons to select a
channel.
To select a 1-digit number
e.g., 1: [1]
[OK].
To select a 2-digit number
e.g., 12: [1]
[2]
≥ A station previously stored is overwritten when another station is stored in
the same channel preset.
Listening/confirming the preset
channels

Press [RADIO] to select "FM".

Press the number buttons to select the
channel.
To select a 1-digit number
e.g., 1: [1]
[OK].
To select a 2-digit number
e.g., 12: [1]
[2].
Alternatively, press [W, X] or [3, 4].

RDS broadcasting

If the station you are listening to is transmitting RDS signals,
programme service or programme type can be shown on the
display.
While listening to the radio broadcast
Press [DISPLAY] to display the text data.
PS: Programme service
PTY: Programme type
OFF: Frequency display
PTY displays
NEWS
VARIED
AFFAIRS
POP M
INFO
ROCK M
SPORT
M.O.R. M*
EDUCATE
LIGHT M
DRAMA
CLASSICS
CULTURE
OTHER M
SCIENCE
WEATHER
* M.O.R. M=Middle of the road music
∫ Display on the main unit
TUNED/STEREO:
Displayed when receiving stereo broadcasting
TUNED:
Displayed when receiving monaural broadcasting or monaural
sound is selected.
∫ If noise is excessive
Press [AUDIO] to display "MONO".
The sound becomes monaural.
Press the button again to cancel the mode. "AUTO STEREO"
will be displayed on the main unit. Depending on the broadcast
system, stereo or monaural will be selected.
"MONO" is also cancelled when you change the frequency.
≥ This setting can be preset for each broadcasting station.
