Listening to Radio Broadcasts

Selecting
an AM or FM Station
O Turn the receiver on
@ Press the AM or FM Source Select button.

lf you pressed the AM Source Select button, AM and kHz
appear in the Tuner Display Window. The receiver tunes in
the last AM frequency that was played
lf you pressed the FM Source Select button, FM and MHz
a p p e a r i n t h e T u n e r D i s p l a y W i n d o w . T h e r e c e r v e r t u n e s i n
the last FM frequency that was played.
O Use the TUNING key to find the radio frequency you want to
listen to. Press the right side of the key to find higher frequen-
cies; press the left side of the key to find lower frequencies.
When you release the TUNING key, the receiver auto{unes
until it tunes a station in. You can stop auto{uning by press-
Ing any tuner button.

Note: Tap the TUNING key momentarily to change the fre-
quency tn steps of 10 kHzfor AM and 0.1 MHzfor FM. Hold
the TUNING key down to change the frequency faster, then

lmportant! lf the receiver is tuned to a statton but the TUNED
lndicator doesn't light, try adjusting the antenna for better
reception.
When you tune to an FM station, the receiver automatically
plays in stereo; the STEREO indicator and the AUTO indicator
a r e l i g h t e d .

station with a weak or noisy signal. Reception wil be
i m p r o v e d , a l t h o u g h y o u w i l l b e l i s t e n i n g t o m o n a u r a l ( n o n -
stereo) sound.

Presetting an AM or FM Station

memory. You preset a station by assigning it a channel
number (1 to 40) Once a station has been preset, you can
tune to that station using the Numeric keys rather than the
T U N I N G k e y .

Q Turn the receiver on.
@ Press the AM or the FM Source Select button,
O Use the TUNING key to tune in the radio station you want to
Dreset.
@ Press the MEMORY button.
T h e M E M O R Y i n d i c a t o r l i g h t s a n d - - C H a p p e a r s ( - -
blinks) in the Tuner Display Window for about five seconds.
@ U s i n g t h e N u m e r i c k e y s , e n t e r t h e c h a n n e l n u m b e r ( 1 t o a 0 )
you want to assrgn to the statron.
The channel number appears in the Tuner Display Window.
lmportant! You must enter the channel number while the
MEMORY indrcator is lighted. lf the indicator turns off too
soon, press the MEMORY button and start again.
Repeat the above process to preset additional radio stations.
Note: Preset stattons are held in the receiver's memory as
long as the receiver is plugged in. lf the receiver is un-
plugged, or if a power fatlure occurs, the receiver will keep
the presets for two or three days before erasrng them.
