Synchronizing

You can synchronize your phone in two different ways: using a computer program, or using
an Internet service.
Use only one of the synchronization methods at a time with your phone.

Synchronization options in Sony Ericsson PC Suite

To set synchronization options in Sony Ericsson PC Suite

Computer: Start Sony Ericsson PC Suite.

Connect your phone to the computer.

In the Synchronization window of Sony Ericsson PC Suite, click Settings and choose
your options.
To solve installation problems

Check that the cable is connected properly to the phone and to the computer.

Make sure that the phone is turned on.

Restart the computer without disconnecting the cable or turning off the phone.
Try to synchronize again.

If the problem persists, reinstall Sony Ericsson PC Suite.
COM port speed
If you experience problems synchronizing with a USB cable, check the COM port speed is
correctly set.
To set the COM port speed

Computer: Click Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/
Ports (COM & LPT) and double-click Sony Ericsson Device (number) USB WMC
Device Management.

Select the Port settings and set the speed to no higher than 115 200 bps.

Try to connect again.
Contacts, calendar items, tasks, notes, and bookmarks
In the Settings window of Sony Ericsson PC Suite, you can choose synchronization settings
for your contacts, calendar items, tasks, notes, and bookmarks. For contacts, calendar
items, tasks, and notes, you can use the drop-down list to select your Personal Information
Manager (PIM). The drop-down list includes all applications that have been detected on
your computer. In the Properties window, you can set which folders you want to
synchronize with.
Bookmarks
When installing Sony Ericsson PC Suite, a subfolder for My Sony Ericsson bookmarks is
created in the Internet Explorer bookmarks folder. This becomes the default folder for
synchronization.
If Internet Explorer is not installed or is not the default web browser, the default folder for
the bookmarks is My Documents/Sony Ericsson PC Suite/Bookmarks.
Rules
In the Rules window, you can set rules for what happens when conflicts are found between
your phone and computer during synchronization.
