Example 2. Listening Position: All Seats
Adjust the time correction level of each speaker to almost the same
level.

Sit in the listening position (driver's seat, etc.) and
measure the distance (in meters) between your
head and the various speakers.

Calculate the difference between the distance to the
farthest speaker and the other speakers.
L = (distance to farthest speaker) – (distance to other
speakers)

Divide the distances calculated for the speakers by
the speed of sound (343 m/s (765 mph) at 20˚C).
These values are the time correction values for the
different speakers.

Bass Focus

The time difference between the front-rear/left-right speakers, can be
adjusted at the same time. With an initial delay of 0.1 ms for each of
the 0 to 99 steps, audible time correction can be done.

Press and hold MENU for at least 2 seconds.

Press MENU to select Bass Focus mode or Time
Correction mode.

Press g or f to select the Bass Focus mode.

Press BAND/TEL. to select the speakers to be
adjusted (see below).

Turn the Rotary encoder to adjust the delay (see
Time Difference Table, page 22).

To set another channel (speakers), repeat steps 4
and 5.

Press the Rotary encoder to confirm the
adjusted contents.
The adjusted contents are not stored if the Rotary encoder
is not pressed.

After setting, press and hold MENU for at least 2
seconds to return to normal mode, or press MENU
and select RETURN to return to normal mode.
• Any manual time correction adjustments will also affect
corrections made in Bass Focus.
• Bass Focus mode is automatically cancelled if no operation is
performed within 15 seconds.
Example setting for steps 4 and 5
(1) Press BAND/TEL. to select the front (left and
right) speakers. Then turn the Rotary encoder to
select 1.5 ms (Delay no. 15 in the table). The time
difference is 1.5 ms for both front (left and right
speakers.

(2) Press BAND/TEL. to select the left (front and rear)
speakers. Then turn the Rotary encoder to select
1.5 ms (Delay no. 15 in the table). The time
difference is 3.0 ms*

impression of an equal listening between the front
left speaker and the other speakers.

Because the time difference was already set to 1.5ms for the front
left speaker to begin with, the additional correction of 1.5ms makes
the total time difference of the front left speaker 3.0ms.
