What to do, if...

Remedying faults

In the case of a fault, try to remedy the fault yourself
with the help of the advice given here. If you ask
Customer Service to help with one of the faults listed
Problem
The washing machine does
not work.
The door cannot be closed.
The END (Ende, Fin) light
flashes 4 times and at the
same time an acoustic signal
sounds 4 times.
The END (Ende, Fin) light

The washing machine vibrates
when operating or is noisy.
The main wash detergent
solution produces too many
suds.

Possible Cause
The power plug is not connected.
A domestic fuse has tripped.
The door is not closed properly.
The START/PAUSE (Start/Pause,
Marche/Pause) button was not
pressed for long enough.
The child safety device is engaged.
The door is not closed properly.
The stopcock is closed.
The filter in the threaded inlet hose fit-
ting is blocked.
Stopcock is furred with limescale or
faulty.
The transit bolt/bars were not
removed.
The height-adjustable screw feet have
not been set correctly.
There is very little washing in the drum
(for example, only one bathrobe).
Water could not be drained com-
pletely before spinning, because the
outlet hose has got a kink in it or the
drain pump is blocked.
Probably too much detergent was
used.
here or to remedy a control fault, a Customer Service
Technician's visit incurs costs even during the war-
ranty period.
Connect the plug to a power outlet.
Replace the fuse.
Close the door;
there should be an audible click.
Press and hold the START/PAUSE
(Start/Pause, Marche/Pause) button
until the programme starts.
Release the child safety device (see
section "Child safety device").
Close the door properly.
Re-start the programme.
Open the stopcock. Re-start the
programme.
Switch off the washing machine:
Close the stopcock. Remove the plug
from the mains, unscrew the hose
from the stopcock, take out the filter
and wash it in running water.
Check the stopcock and have it
repaired, if necessary.
Remove the transit bolts/bars as
described in the Installation and Con-
nection instructions.
Adjust the screw feet as described in
the Installation and Connection
instructions.
Operation is not affected by this.
Check the positioning of the outlet
hose and even out any kinks if neces-
sary or clean the drain pump and
remove any foreign matter that might
be in the pump housing.
Follow the manufacturer's instruc-
tions exactly, when measuring out
detergent.
