8. Return cruise control lever to neutral and check to
make sure wheels are not rotating.
9. If wheels rotate, repeat steps 4 thru 5.
10. Once neutral is set, stop engine and lower machine.

Brake linkage adjustment

Occassionally it may be necessary to adjust the brake
linkage. Use the following procedure to adjust:
1. Turn the engine off. Disconnect the spark plug wire
from the spark plug.
2. Place the H-bar handle in the neutral position and the
cruise control lever in the neutral position.
3. Place the park brake lever in the drive position. Fig. 5-

4. Remove the deck cover.
5. Remove the brake spring. Fig. 5-4
6. Loosen the locking nut and the outside adjusting nut.
Measure from the end of the threaded linkage rod to
the inside adjusting nut. This dimension should be 1-
1/4" - 1-1/2"". If it is not adjust the inside adjusting
nut until the dimension is attained. Fig. 5-5 & 5-6
7. Tighten the outside adjusting nut until there is a 1/16"
gap between it and the brake linkage adjusting plate.

8. Tighten the locking nut against the outside adjusting

9. Re-attach the brake spring.
10. To test the brake adjustment, slide the park brake lever
from the drive position into the park brake position
(Fig. 5-7). The brakes should be engaged. If they are
not, it will be necessary to adjust the two adjusting
nuts a little one way or the other until the brakes are
fully engaged.
