Listening to FM radio
Selecting the reception mode
Different reception modes can be selected to match different reception conditions. If the radio
station you want to listen to has a signal too weak to be detected by the automatic preset
process, you can select manual reception to adjust the radio frequency manually.

Set FM radio mode by
performing Steps 1 to 4 of the
procedure given in " Presetting
radio stations automatically"

Press the F2 button to select the
desired reception mode.
TIP
• When a radio station has been
preset (☞ P.49), the voice
recorder switches between preset
mode and frequency mode each
time you press the F2 button.
• You cannot select preset mode if
no radio stations have been preset.
Press the 9 or 0 button to

change the reception mode.
Frequency mode (auto reception/manual reception)
• Press the 9 or 0 button to adjust
the FM radio frequency being received
(manual reception).
• Press and hold the 9 or 0 button
to scan to the next radio station found
(auto reception).

Preset mode
• Pressing the 9 or 0 button lets
you select preset radio stations (by
preset number).

• When the frequency of a non-preset
radio station is being received, pressing
the F2 button switches to the preset
station nearest in frequency to the
current frequency.
• Reducing the sensitivity used for
scanning can sometimes enable
reception of stations difficult to receive
due to interference or other problems
(☞ P.81).
