Read these instructions before using your product.
This product requires careful handling of ink. Ink may splatter
when the ink tanks are filled or refilled. If ink gets on your clothes
or belongings, it may not come off. Wear plastic gloves when
filling the ink tanks.
Note: The included ink bottles must be used for printer setup and are
not for resale.
Caution: Do not open ink bottles until you are ready to fill the ink tanks.
The ink bottles are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

R emove all protective
materials

R emove all the packing materials, as shown.

M ake sure the transportation lock is set to the
position. Otherwise, you will not be able to print.

U nhook the ink tank unit from the printer.

R emove the transportation caps from each ink tank and
store them on the inside of the ink tank unit.

Fill ink tanks
Note: When you fill the ink tanks, place a sheet of paper under the
ink tank unit. If ink spills, wipe it off immediately to avoid permanent
stains.
Caution: Keep ink bottles out of the reach of children and do not
drink the ink.

O pen the ink tank unit cover, then remove the ink tank
cap.

S nap off the tip, remove the bottle cap and seal, then
replace the bottle cap.
C
aution: Replace the bottle cap tightly, or ink may leak.

M atch the ink color with the correct tank and fill each
tank with all of the ink.

R eplace the ink tank caps securely.
5
S eal each bottle with its tip before discarding.

Page 2: Turn On And Select Settings
Close the ink tank unit. Load paper F lip the feeder guard forward. Hook the ink tank on the printer. R aise the paper support, pull out the output tray, then raise the paper stopper. Turn on and select settings C onnect the power cord to the back of the printer and to an electrical outlet. S lide the edge guide to the left. aution: Do not connect to your computer yet. P ress the power button. L oad paper against the right edge guide and behind the tab line on the left edge guide, with the printable side faceup. P ress or to select your language if necessary, then press OK. S elect your country/region and press OK. aution: Don’t load the paper sideways; always load it short edge first. S elect Summer if Daylight Saving Time is in effect; otherwise, select Winter. Press OK. S elect the date format and press OK. Press the number keys to enter the date and press OK. Select the time format (12h or 24h) and press OK. S lide the edge guide against the left edge of the paper, P ress the number keys to enter the time. Then press but not too tightly. -

Connect the fax line Install. On Mac OS X, click Continue. Then follow the instructions on your computer screen. To fax, connect the included phone cord to a telephone wall jack and to the LINE port on the back of your product. To connect a telephone or answering machine, use the EXT. port on your product. See the Quick Guide for more details. W hen you see the screen below, check the “Connection options” section on this sheet for more information. C hoose your connection. Then click Next (Windows) or Continue (Mac OS X) and follow the instructions on your computer screen. Note: If you’re connecting to a DSL phone line, you must use a DSL filter or you won’t be able to fax. Contact your DSL provider for the necessary filter. Install software Note: If your computer does not have a CD/DVD drive, you can download the software from the Epson website (see “Epson technical support” on this sheet). Caution: Be sure to close your other programs, including any screen Connection options savers and virus protection software, before beginning this software installation. Wireless connection M ake sure the printer is NOT CONNECTED to your computer. You must install the software on every computer from which you want to print. For the first installation, we recommend using a USB cable to simplify wireless setup. After the printer is connected to the network, you will be prompted to remove the cable. If you’re using Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, or 10.8, or you don’t have a USB cable, you will need to use the buttons on the printer to select wireless settings. Follow the instructions on your... -
