Basic operation

This section covers basic procedures in i-TTL mode in combination with a CLS-
compatible camera. i-TTL mode enables you to easily take flash photography with
well balanced lighting.

Suitable batteries
Insert four AA-type penlight batteries of any of the following types:
Alkaline-manganese (1.5 V)
Oxyride™ (1.5 V)
When replacing batteries, use fresh batteries of the same brand.
For more on batteries, refer to "Batteries" and "Notes on batteries."

Inserting the batteries
Slide the battery chamber lid
open.
Insert the batteries following the
[+] and [-] marks as shown.
Close the battery chamber lid.
Lithium (1.5 V)
Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) (1.2 V)
