Test Procedure
To test an element control, perform the follow-
ing steps:
1. Use an ohmmeter and set the range switch
to R x 1.
2. With no power applied, disconnect the
wires from the control terminals. Turn the
control on, and you should obtain conti-
nuity readings between the following ter-
minals:
L1 and P
L1 and H1
P and H1
L2 and H2
If the reading is not within the range shown,
the control is defective and should be re-
placed.
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect from electrical supply before ser-
vicing unit.
Failure to do so could result in death or
electrical shock.

THERMAL FUSE

H2
Current Rating = 25 amp @ 120 VAC & 20 amp @ 250 VAC.
Trip Point = 184˚C (363˚F).
Fuse is normally closed and is not resettable.
Description
The thermal fuse is located on the back of the
range and senses heat buildup around the
electronic oven control. When temperatures
reach approximately 184˚C (363˚F), the fuse
opens and cuts the electrical supply to the
oven control. The thermal fuse cannot be re-
set, and must be replaced when open.
Test Procedure
To test the thermal fuse, perform the following
steps:
1. Use an ohmmeter and set the range switch
to R x 1.
2. With no power applied, remove the wires
from the thermal fuse terminals.
3. Touch the leads of the ohmmeter to the
terminals of the thermal fuse and the meter
should show continuity.
If the above results are not obtained, the ther-
mal fuse is defective and should be replaced.
