The usage of a full-size dissimilar spare tire and wheel assembly can lead
to impairment of the following:
• Handling, stability and braking performance
• Comfort and noise
• Ground clearance and parking at curbs
• Winter weather driving capability
• Wet weather driving capability
• All-wheel driving capability (if applicable)
• Load leveling adjustment (if applicable)
When driving with the full-size dissimilar spare tire and wheel assembly,
additional caution should be given to:
• Towing a trailer
• Driving vehicles equipped with a camper body
• Driving vehicles with a load on the cargo rack
Drive cautiously when using a full-size dissimilar spare tire and wheel,
and seek service as soon as possible.
Tire Change Procedure
WARNING: Before lifting the vehicle with a jack, identify the
correct jacking points as shown in the illustration. Position the
vehicle on a hard, level surface. Set the parking brake and block all
wheels remaining on the ground. Never get underneath a vehicle that is
supported only by a jack. Failure to follow these instructions may result
in unintended vehicle movement and serious personal injury or death.
WARNING: Before lifting the vehicle with a jack, make sure the
jack capacity is adequate for the vehicle weight, including any
vehicle cargo or modifications.
WARNING: Always position the jack as shown in the illustration.
Do not use the engine to power the drive wheels unless all drive
wheels are elevated off the ground. Incorrect jack positioning or drive
wheels in contact with the ground can cause unintended vehicle
movement. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious
personal injury or death.
