Optimizing Printer Performance
5. Don't use the NEC SuperScript Print Manager
when printing in GDI mode.
For fastest possible printing, you can shut off the
NEC SuperScript Print Manager altogether for
GDI mode. Go to the GDI Setup Options Screen,
described in Chapter 3 and make sure the box
titled Use NEC SuperScript Print Manager is
blank.
(Note: Turning off the NEC SuperScript Print
Manager disables some features of the
SuperScript printer, such as manual duplex
printing.)
6. Disable animation of the NEC SuperScript Print
Status icon.
You can save a little memory by turning off the
animation feature of the NEC SuperScript Print
Status Window icon. Refer to Chapter 5, NEC
SuperScript Print Status Window, for an explana-
tion how to do this.
7. Disable automatic display of Print Status.
You can also save some system resources if you
turn off Display Status While Printing. When
this feature is turned on, the Print Status screen
pops up whenever you print. Turning off this
feature means you only see the Print Status
screen if an error warning occurs. Refer to
Chapter 5, NEC SuperScript Print Status Win-
dow, for more information on this.
