Porcelain EnamelCooktop(on some models)
The porcelain enamel finish is sturdy
but breakable if misused. This finish is
add-resist;rot. However; any acidic fl)o(ls
spilled (such as fruit juices, tomato
or
vinegar) should not be pemfitted to remain
on the finish.
If acids spill on the cooktop while it is hot,
rise a dry paper towel or cloth to wil)e it 11 I)
fight away. _4]/en the StlYlilce has cooled,
wash with soap and _:lm_: Rinse well.
For other spills such as tilt spatterings, wash
with soap and water or cleansing I)ow(le_
after the surfilce has cooled. Rinse well.
Polish with a (h_' cloth.
Be sure all surface units are turned
off before raising the co&top.
Lift-Up Cooktop(onsomemodels)
Some models have a cooktop that can be
lifted 11 I) fi)r easier cleaning. The entire
cooktop me)' be lifted up and supported
in the up position.

two side supports that lock into position
when the cooktop is lifted up.

mild soapy water and a clean cloth, lower
the cooktop. Be careflll not to pinch your
fingers.
To lower the cooktop, push the rods back
and gently lower the cooktop tmtil it rests
in place.
NOTE."Do not lift the cooktop on redlant top models.
Lifting the cooktop can/ead to damage and improper
operation of the range.
Surface Unit
Receptacle Drippan
Surface Units(onsomemodels)
Be sure all the controls are turned to OFFendthe
surface units are cool before attempting to remove
them.
To clean the sm_ilce milts, mrn the control
to the highest setting tot a minute. The coils

Toremove a surface unit
To remove the drip pans for cleaning, the
surfilce units must be removed first.
i,ifl the suitilce unit about 1 inch above the
drip pan and pull it ()tit.
Do not hft the surface unit more than 11" I f you do,
it may not fie fiat on the drippan when you plug it
back in.
Repeated lifting (ff the stmfilce unit more than
1 inch above the dfi I) I)an can i)em_anently
damage the receptacle,
Toreplace a surface unit:
Rel)lace the dfi l) pan into the recess in the
cooktop. Make sm'e the opening in the l)an
lines u I) with the receptacle.
Insert the temfinals of the smtilce unit
through the opening in the drip pan and
into the receptacle.
Guide the surtilce refit into place so it rests
evenl>
Donot/Ynmersethe surfaceunits in
liquids of any klbd
Donot dean the surface units in a
dishwasher
Donot bend the surface unit plug
terminals.
Donot attempt to dean, adjust or in any
way repair the p/ug-b receptacle.
Drip Pans (on somemodels)
Reinove the suitilce milts. Then lift out the
drip pans.
Place them in a covered containe_: Add
1/4 cup ammonia and let soak several
hom_ or overnight.

The drip pans may also be cleaned in the
dishwasher:
Clean the area trader the (hi l) pans often.
Built-up soil, espedally grease, may catch fire.
Do not cover the drip pans with foil Usingfoil so
dose to the receptacle cou/dcause shock, fire or
damage to the range.
