Customizing the Oregon

Heading Setup

On the Main Menu, touch
Heading.
Display—select the type of directional
heading shown on the compass:
Directional Letters—sets the
compass page reading to directional
letters (N, S, E, W).
Numeric Degrees—sets the compass
page reading to degrees (0°–359°).
Mils—sets the compass page reading
to mils (0 mils–1000 mils).
North Reference—select the north
reference of the compass:
True—sets true north as the heading
reference.
Magnetic—automatically sets
the magnetic declination for your
location.
Grid—sets grid north as the heading
reference (0°).

Setup
>
User—allows you to set the magnetic
variation value.
Go To Line—select Bearing to show
the Bearing Pointer, which indicates
the direction to your destination. Touch
Course to select the Course Pointer,
which indicates your relationship to a
course line leading to the destination

10).
Compass—select Auto to switch from
an electronic compass to a GPS compass
when you are traveling at a higher rate of
speed for a set period of time. Select Off
to turn the electronic compass off and
use the GPS compass.
Calibrate—calibrate the compass
(page
11).
