Warning Displays

The table below lists the warnings that are displayed on the screen.
Warning Displayed
(Lit red) The batteries are low or completely out of charge.
V (Blinking red)
| There is a strong likelihood of camera shake
because the shutter speed is slow.
The AF (autofocus) cannot work effectively.
{
Aperture/ The camera cannot shoot the picture at the correct

Camera malfunction or fault.

xD-Picture Card is not inserted when transferring

Remedy
Load new or fully charged batteries.
Use flash photography. A tripod may be
recommended, depending on the scene and mode.
• If the image is too dark, take the picture at a
distance of around 2 m (6.6 ft.) from the subject.
• Use AF lock to take the picture (➝p.39).
• Select Macro mode when taking close-up shots.
The picture can be taken, but the correct brightness
(exposure) will not be obtained.
• Turn the camera on again, taking care not to touch
the lens.
• Turn the camera off and on again. If the message
still appears, contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
Insert an xD-Picture Card.
• Format the xD-Picture Card or internal memory
on the camera (➝p.130).
• Wipe the contact area on the xD-Picture Card
with a soft, dry cloth. It may be necessary to format
the xD-Picture Card (➝p.130). If the message still
appears, replace the xD-Picture Card.
• Contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
