1Press the "MENU/OK" button to display the
menu.
2Use "d" and "c" to select the menu item and
"a( 8 )" and "b( 9 )" to change the setting.
3Press the "MENU/OK" button to confirm the
selection. Once the setting is valid, it is
displayed at the top of the LCD monitor screen.

The settings available in the menu screen differ
depending on the still image mode. See P.42 for
44 details.

In " w MANUAL" mode, you can switch
between menu pages by pressing "d" or "c" for
the directions indicated by the arrows "b" or "a"
at the end of the menu.
W FLASH
PHOTOGRAPHY MENU
This mode can be selected in the " = w " still

image modes.
Use the flash mode that best suits your shot.
h5 modes: "AUTO, o, r, ] and
t "
hEffective flash range (in " = AUTO" mode):
Approx. 0.4 m to 3.5 m (1.3 ft. to 11.5 ft.)

When you select a flash mode, you may find that the
displayed image disappears and the screen goes
dark because the flash is charging. In this event, the
viewfinder lamp flashes orange.

If you use the flash in very dusty surroundings, white
specks may appear on the image due to the flash
reflecting from the dust particles.
AUTO Auto Flash Mode
Use this mode for ordinary photography. The
flash fires automatically as required by the
shooting conditions.
