Battery (Contd)
Removing oxyhydrogen gas
The battery can develop oxyhydrogen, which is
highly explosive. An evacuation hose draws
any oxyhydrogen gas from around the battery
out of the car and prevents gas from accumu-
lating in the passenger and cargo compart-
ments. If you must change the battery for some
reason, it is imperative that the evacuation hose
is connected to the new battery and that it is
routed to the outlet in the bodywork.
