Adjustment Manual
ZERO POINT SYSTEM adjustment
The zero point system enables simple tuning of the tremolo, more
stable tuning after arming and suppresses tuning irregularities to
the minimum even when a string has broken.
In correctly tuned conditions, confirm that the stop rod is touching
the tremolo block and stopper (Fig. 40 OK).
If the stop rod is not touching the tremolo block (Fig. 40 NG1-1),
turn the main spring adjustment knob counterclockwise and loos-
en the main spring.
Confirm that the stop rod is touching both the tremolo block and
the stopper.
Now, the best position is with the arm down very slightly, not up
(a balance of about 3:7), so turn the adjustment knob (Fig. 41 I)
and adjust it to this position. Confirm that the stop rod is touching
the tremolo block and stopper, even with one string completely
loosened.
If the stop rod is not touching the stopper (Fig. 40 NG2-2), turn
the main spring adjustment knob clockwise and tighten the main
spring.
Caution
If the zero point system is not adjusted to the correct posi-
tion, it will go into a floating state and its functions will not
display sufficiently, so make sure to adjust it accurately.
Switching to floating
The tremolo can be completely floated by stopping the zero point
system function.
While moving the arm up, remove the stop rod (Fig. 42 J) and sub-
spring (Fig. 42 K). Adjust the tremolo installation angle with the
main spring adjustment knob with the unit correctly tuned.
If the tremolo is leaning too much toward the front with regard to
the neck, turn the spring adjustment knob clockwise. Conversely, if
the tremolo is leaning too much toward the back with regard to the
neck, turn the spring adjustment knob counterclockwise.
Caution
For adjustment of the tremolo installation angle in a float-
ing state, the tuning will fluctuate irregularly when the
main spring adjustment knob is adjusted, so adjust it pa-
tiently while repeating tuning.
