Onkyo components that are connected via 941 are
controlled by pointing the remote controller at the AV
receiver, not the component. This allows you to control
components that are out of view, in a rack, for example.

Make sure the Onkyo
component
is connected
with
an 94 1 cable and an analog audio cable (RCA).
See "Connecting
Onkyo
1-41 Components"
for details
(O page 19).

Enter the appropriate
remote
control
code for
REMOTE
MODE,
referring
to the previous
section.

and operate
the

If you want to control
an Onkyo
component
by pointing
the remote
controller
directly
at it, or you want to control
an Onkyo
component
that's
not connected
via 94 I, use the
following
remote
control

You can reset the remote controller to its default settings.

While holding down RECEIVER, press and hold
down HOME until the remote indicator lights
(about 3 seconds).

Within 30 seconds, press RECEIVER
again.
The remote indicator flashes twice, indicating that the
remote controller has been reset.
By pressing
the REMOTE
MODE
that's
been
programmed
with the remote
control code for your
component,
yon can control your component
as described
below.

Controlling a TV
TV
is preprogrammed
with the remote
control
code for
controlling
a TV that supports
the 1-411-1D'1
(limited
to
some models).
The TV must be able to receive
remote
control commands
via I-'4II-ID
and be connected
to the
AV receiver
via HDMI.
If controlling
your TV via
I-'4II-ID
doesn't
work very well, program
your TV's
remote
control code into TV and use the TV remote
mode
to control
your TV.
Use the following
remote
control codes:
} 11807/13100/13500:
TV with 1-41HD
Controlling a Blu-ray Disc/DVD Player, HD
DVD Player or DVD Recorder
BDIDVD
is preprogrammed
with the remote
control code
for controlling
a component
that supports
the F4.]I-II_*l
(limited
to some models).
The component
must be able to
receive
remote
control
commands
via F4.II-IID
and be
connected
to the AV receiver
via HDMI.
Use the following
remote
control codes:
32910/33101/33501/31612:
Blu-ray
Disc/DVD
player
with F4.II-IID
You can reset a REMOTE
MODE
to its default
remote
control code.

The r-qn-ID supported by the AV receiver is the CEC
system control function of the HDMI standard.

While holding down REMOTE MODE that you
want to reset, press and hold down HOME until the
remote indicator
lights (about 3 seconds).
Within 30 seconds, press REMOTE MODE again.
The remote indicator flashes twice, indicating that the
button has been reset.
Each of REMOTE MODE is preprogrammed
with a
remote control code. When a button is reset, its
preprogrammed code is restored.
