SpeedControlLever
Thespeed control l ever,located onthe left sideofthe tractor's
dashconsole, a llowsyouto regulatethegroundspeed of the lawn
tractor.Touse,depress t he dutch-brakepedal a ndmovethe lever
out ofthe parkingbrakenotchandforwardto increase the tractor's
groundspeed. W henadesired speed hasbeenreached, release the
leverintoan appropriate notchto maintainthat speed.
Toslowthe tractor'sgroundspeed, d epress thedutch-brakepedal
andmovethe speed control l everrearwardandrelease it into a
notch.
Parking Brake
Tosetthe parkingbrake, f ully depress t he clutch-brake pedal.Move
the speed control l everall the waydownandintothe parkingbrake
position.Release t he clutch-brake pedalto allowthe parkingbrake
to engage.

PARK
BRAKE
Torelease the parkingbrake, d epress t he dutch-brakepedalandmovethe speed
controlleverout of the notches to the desiredposition.Release the speed control
leverandthe dutch-brakepedal.
NOTE: Theparkingbrakemustbesetif the operator leaves the seatwith the engine
runningor the enginewill automatically shutoff.
Throttle/Choke ControlLever
Thethrottle/choke controlleverislocated on the rightsideof the
tractor'sdashpanel. T his[ever controls the speed of the engine
andwhen pushed all the wayforward,the chokecontrol a lso.
Whensetinagivenposition,the throttlewill maintainauniform
enginespeed.
IMPORTANT:
Whenoperatingthe tractorwiththe cuttingdeck
engaged, t he throttle/choke controllevermustalwaysbe inthe
FAST ( rabbit)position.
Ignition Switch
Thekeyswitch
moduleis usedto
startandstopthe
engine.Insertkey
into the keyswitch
moduleandturn clockwise to the
START position.Release t he keyinto
the normalmowingpositiononce
enginehasstarted.Theheadlights will
beactivated automatically.
Tostopthe engine,turn the ignitionkeycounterclockwise to the STOP p osition.
IMPORTANT:
Prior t o operatingthe tractor,referto boththe "SafetyInterlock
System" a nd"StartingTheEngine" laterinthissectionof thismanual f ordetailed
instructions regarding the IgnitionSwitchModule.
Neverleavea running machineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO (Blade
EngageLever),moveshift leverinto neutral position, set parking brake,
stop engineand removekeyto prevent unintendedstarting.
Shift Lever
Theshift leverislocated on the left side
of the fenderandhasthreepositions,
FORWARD,
NEUTRAL andREVERSE.
The
clutch-brake pedalmustbedepressed
andthetractormustnot bein motion
whenthe movingshift lever.
IMPORTANT:
Never f orcethe shift lever.
Doing somayresultin
serious damage to the tractor's
transmission.
DeckLift Lever
Found on yourtractor'srightfender, t he decklift leverisusedto change the height
of the cuttingdeck.Touse,movethe leverto the left, thenplaceinthe notchbest
suitedforyourapplication.
PTO (Blade Engage)Lever
Found on the tractor'srightfender,the PTO (bladeengage) l ever
is usedto engage powerto thecuttingdeckorother(separately
available) a ttachments. T ooperate,movethe leverall the way
forward.Moving the leverall the wayrearwardintothe PTO OFF
positiondisengages p owerto thecutting deck/attachment.
NOTE: ThePTO (bladeengage) l evermustbein the disengaged ( PTO
OFF) p ositionwhen startingthe engine.
CupHolder
Thetractor'scupholderislocated on the fenderto the left of the
seat.
Seat Adjustment Knob
Theseatadjustment k nobis located onthe bottomsideof the seat.
Use thisknobto adjustthe seatforwardor rearward to a comfortable
operatingpositionbyloosening the knob,positioning the seatto the
desiredpreference, thenretighteningthe knob.
Clutch-Brake Pedal
Theclutch-brake pedalislocated on the left sideof the lawntractor,alongthe
runningboard.Depress t he clutch-brake pedalpartwaydownwhen slowingthe
tractorbychanging speeds (Referto Speed ControlLever). D epress t he pedal a ll the
waydownto engage the discbrakeandbringthe tractorto acomplete stop.
NOTE: Thepedalmustbedepressed tostart the engine.Refer t o Safety Interlock
Switches laterin thissectionof thismanual.
