Installtheoil filter byhanduntil the gasket c ontacts the oil filter adapter,
thentightenthe oil filter 1/2 to 3/4turns.

Startandrunthe engine.Asthe engine warmsup,checkforoil leaks.

Stopthe engineandchecktheoil level.It shouldbeat the FULL markonthe
dipstick.
Fuel Filter
Gasolineanditsvaporsareextremely flammable andexplosive.Fireor
explosioncan causesevereburns ordeath.
Keep gasoline awayfrom sparks, o penflames,pilot lights,heat,andother
ignitionsources.
Check fuellines,tank,cap,andfittings frequentlyforcracks or leaks. R eplace
if necessary.
Beforereplacing the fuelfilter, drainthe fuel tank asperthe instructions
below.
Donot drainfuel whenthe engineishot.Allow theengineadequate time to
cool.Drain fuel into anapproved container o utdoors, a wayfromopenflame.
Drainanylargevolumeoffuel from thetank bydisconnecting t he fuel line
fromthe in-line fuel filter nearthe engine.
Remove t he fuel linefromthe In-lineside(sidetowards the fuel tank)of the
fuelfilter.
Replacement partsmustbethe sameandinstalledinthe samepositionas
the originalparts.
If fuelspills,wait until it evaporates b efore startingengine.
Beforereplacing the fuel filter,drainthe fuel tank.Otherwise, fuel canleak
out andcause afire orexplosion.
ToDrainthe fuel:
Locate the fuelfilter,seeFigure 12,whichisrouted on theleft sideofthe
engine between the fueltankandthecarburetor, andmaybeattached to the
engine withatie strap. C utthetiestrap,if present, t henpinchthe tabsonthe
in-lineclamponthefuel filter withapairof pliers, s lidethe clampupthe fuel
line.Pull t he fuellinefreefrom thefilter andplace the open endof the lineinto
anapproved container t odrainthe fuel.
Tochangethe fuel filter:
1.
Usepliersto squeeze the tabsonthe otherclamp(theout-linesideof the
fuelfilter), thenslidethe clampawayfrom the fuelfilter. Twistandpullthe
fuel lineoffof the fuelfilter.SeeFigure12.

Secure the fuel lineswith the clamps.
If filters, orcovers arenot installedcorrectly seriousinjuryordeath could
resultfrom backfire.Donot attempt to start the engine with them removed.
Donot usepressurized a ir orsolventsto cleanthe air cleanercartridge.
